well i graduated sva and am now a real life bachelor of real life fine arts. ideally i'd love to work in a place where i could do both administrative and creative work. the longer jobs i've had involved a lot of the former but almost none of the latter, and it's something i've always had an itch for. once i get grounded, i'd like to take a couple graphic design classes to expand my skillz.
until then, i came up with a kind of idea. during thesis, finishing a scene was like finishing a little piece of artwork that, taken out of context, could make a nice little thing to look at on its own. i figure doing a scene unrelated to anything that could have context padded on either end of it would be a fun idea. depending on the complexity, such a scene could take anywhere from three days to a couple weeks. free time better spent doing this than nothing at all.
i'm getting a few ideas just from listening to music, but you never know where you'll find inspiration. i found this pap picture on a gossip website and fell in love with it immediately:
i love the composition, the framing of the guys by the girls, the guys' differing facial expressions... i don't know, it's just a cool pic. i'd love to expand on it and make it move.
i'm not ready to tackle a huge film again just yet. i feel like doing mini scenes like this after getting home from a good old 9 to 5er would be a good way to keep drawing and keep animating without getting repeats of scary thesisitis.
right now is all about stabilizing.
