weenie

i have work, i have work! a bunch. paintings, figure drawings, lil thumbnails, sketches... but my scanner is on the other side of the country, and i've resorted to sneaky means to get at least a little something online.

i have a job at an art gallery and have been exposed to more cool stuff than ever which has been awesome and incredibly inspiring (in varying ways, HEH). so things are going pretty well because i'm managing to keep art in my life and going to drink n' draws and stuff like that. i'm trying to convince the gallery to hold one of those here, too. i think it'd be really good for artists and art-likers alike.

anyway i'll be back in full force soon, for real. maybe even get started on a real life non blogspot site, just for fun. we'll see. ok see ya

holy frijoles

here's a nice, apologetic post about my slacking off in the blog department.

i haven't been doing nothing, though! au contrarie. i've been drawing quite a bit. finally starting to appreciate the cuteness and convenience of a moleskine. life drawings of children i used to teach. layouts. possible job offers of things that actually involve animation. emphasis on the possible.

and i also moved to san francisco!

it is a nice fresh breath of inspiration but i do find myself feeling very guilty for even exploring just yet. i don't have a job and that's stressing me out. but i am in a really cool place. i'm not in nowheresville usa though that's probably a lot cheaper.

i didn't bring my scanner so i have nothing to post right now. i better get to it though before i dislike the stuff i did.

blog more like blaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhggggggggghggghghghg

happy san francisco!

A Good Artist

one of today's class assignments was to make an "inspirational poster". i wanted the kids to choose subjects like "what makes a good athlete?", or "why i love my mom". too bad they didn't really understand, and i got back a few variations on "why pokemon is awsome (sic)". it's ok, they had fun. my example is above.

i teach an additional kindergarten art class on saturdays. i wanted them to do crackle pictures (crumbling up a drawing, smoothing it out, then letting watercolor bleed into the cracks). it didn't work out as well as i had hoped, but one little girl in particular made this beautiful lil painting. right now it's my desktop picture:

i dunno, i guess i'm a little fond of this whole art teacher thing.

resumé time

i know i just posted one, but i have had a pretty busy summer! wow!

i promise i will post some actual artwork within the next few days. most of it will probably be kiddie stuff though, for the kids. we'll see!
