that doesn't mean i haven't been working! far from it, actually! i have a rough animatic for my thesis, and while i do have a few layouts i was talking about, they are far from finished. but i'm happy they exist in more than just my head.
i also got a summer job drawing caricatures on the boardwalk, which keeps me drawing whether i feel like it or not. that's a great thing! the pictures are cutesy wutesy and not at all like this guy's, but for the most part, people are happy with them. i'd like to get more daring, but i always chicken out and go the easy route.
but the great thing about it is it's all commissioned, meaning i am literally getting paid for the things i draw. not for scooping ice cream, not for seating tables, not for filing papers. it's all for drawing. in that sense i feel it's been totally worth it.
anyway here's another picture of violet, which i was really fond of when i first drew it. but now it doesn't look like anything special. it's more concrete, if anything.
